Daily Praying the Word

PRAYING GOD’S WORD: More than 300 Bible verses are included in this book to effectively guide you in praying God’s infallible Word back to Him. Twelve times in Psalm 119 the writer tells of God’s faithfulness “according to Your Word”:

  1.       to cleanse us as we obey (v. 9),
  2.       to revive us when we’re discouraged (v. 25),
  3.       to strengthen us in sadness (v. 28),
  4.       to save us in love (v. 41),
  5.       to receive God's mercy (v. 58),
  6.       to do good to us (v. 65),
  7.       to comfort us (v. 76),
  8.       to renew us (v. 107),
  9.       to uphold us (v. 116),
  10.       to protect us (v. 154),
  11.       to teach us (v. 169), and
  12.       to answer our prayers (170)

One way of praying God’s word is to paraphrase a verse into a prayer of your own. For instance, when you read…

6Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 7For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8And having food and clothing, with these we will be content.
1 Timothy 6:6-8
3Give us day by day our daily bread.
Luke 11:3
…pray it in the following way:
“Dear Lord, help me to see that I need to be content. Thank you for my daily food today and for my clothing and shelter and all my basic needs.”

Feel free to copy and paste these pages into a word document or onto your mobile device and personalize it with your own daily requests. Songs are included to sing His praise back to Him. May God bless both the reading of His word and the prayers of His saints. Amen.

11Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13Therefore take to you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness; 15and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end, with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.
Ephesians 6:11-18

Matthew 6:6
7Two things have I request of You; (Deprive me not before I die): 8Remove falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food You prescribe for me; 9Lest I be full, and deny You, and say, “Who is the LORD?” or lest I be poor and steal, and profane the name of my God.

11If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those that ask Him?

“Ours is a spiritual battle, won or lost in prayer.”
3For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh: 4For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5casting down arguments, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

Hear my prayer, according to Your Word.”

Luke 11:9, 10
27“But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You. How much less this temple which I have built! 28Yet regard the prayer of Your servant, and his supplication, O LORD my God, and listen to the cry and the prayer, which Your servant is praying before You today: 29that Your eyes may be open toward this temple night and day, toward the place of which You said, ‘My name shall be there,’ that You may hear the prayer which Your servant makes toward this place.”
1 Kings 8:27-29
